INTERNATIONAL JURY OF IFF “LOVE IS FOLLY”
A film director and producer with more than 25 years experience.
His work covers feature and documentary films, television programs and advertisements of a wide range of genres.
He makes his mark as an art director of TV Medica, works as a director and editor for the Romanian Public TV, was a producer in the Bucharest Center for Art and Culture. He directs the studies at the Romanian State Agency for Special Communications. He is the head of various projects in the field of digital images, photography and cinematography.
He is born in 1974 in Hamburg, Germany. He is a director and writer, and has been a member of the German Film Academy since 2004.
He studied directing at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy from 1996 to 2002. Still a student he received the short film award of the national competition of the Dresden Film Festival.
His first feature film, My Brother the Vampire, was released in 2001 while still a student, and was awarded both the audience award at the Max Ophüls Film Festival and the FIPRESCI award at the Rotterdam International Film Festival.
In 2006, his second feature film Emma’s Happiness was released, which received several prestigious awards and attracted almost 400,000 visitors in the German cinemas.
She is a Film Studies graduate from the Higher Institute for Theatre Art, and has been working in the Bulgarian National Film Archives since 1980. She has been a film observer of “24 chasa”, “Standard”, “Sega” Magazine, “Capital light”, “Trud”, „Presa”. She is an author of numerous articles in Bulgarian and foreign periodicals. A jury member of the international festivals in Krakow, Oberhausen, Leipzig, Troia, Cottbus, Rotterdam (president), Karlovy Vary, etc. The Chair of the Critics guild at the Union of the Bulgarian Film Makers (2007- 2012). She is the prize winner of the Union of the Bulgarian Film Makers for operative critics for 2000-2002. She has been a Director of the Bulgarian National Film Archives since November 2013.
